On April 27, 2007 the first factory in Latvia and the most up-to-date in East Europe started its work, producing ecological and environmentally friendly heat insulation materials – ecowool Vekover.
Vekover ecowool is high-quality, ecological, heat insulating building material made of wastepaper. It is used for heat insulation of both dwelling and industrial buildings.
Project contractor is “Vidzemes energoceltnieks” Ltd, subcontractor – “SCO Centrs” JSC. Number of employees shall be small at the enterprise, as the technologies managing and controlling production process automatically are the most advanced at the moment in Europe.
Establishment of a factory in Latvia has a high added value not only in the context of building and preservation of nature resources, but it also will promote development of such national economy sectors like collection and processing of recycled raw materials on Latvian market.
Recycling becomes more and more significant in our global world. More products are made or produced using recycled materials completely or partly. Recycling in manufacturing industries has opened new ways both for obtaining direct profit (for recycling enterprises) and indirect profit providing financial benefits to the companies from lower production costs or cheaper raw materials which were obtained from recycled materials.
